Meet Dr. Malekan
Dr. Malekan is a psychoanalytically trained child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist with 20+ years of experience.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and continued her graduate studies at the UCLA School of Public Health. Her journey in clinical research led her to collaborate with Dr. Bessel Van Der Kolk at the University of Massachusetts' Boston Trauma Center, exploring the effects of SSRIs on PTSD. She furthered her education by earning a Medical Degree from the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University. Her commitment to comprehensive care is reflected in her pediatric training within the esteemed Triple Board Program at Tufts Medical Center. Subsequently, she completed her Psychiatry residency at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY.
She is multi-lingual, speaking English and Farsi - you can speak in whichever language you are most comfortable speaking in. Dr. Malekan enjoys working with patients from various cultures. Such experiences, as well as her extensive medical training, have developed her enhanced sensitivity to the cultural aspects of psychiatry.
